With high bay windows at the front of the house (including a sea view from the bedroom) and large windows elsewhere you’ll be bathed in natural light whether you’re catching up on emails on your retreat, relaxing before your next adventure or just unwinding after a long day.
The property features a games room too – a perfect space for some of your guests to unwind. As well as a games console and more, it features a sofa bed providing a seventh guest’s sleeping capacity should you need it.
If you fancy dining or relaxing outside, then enjoy the decked garden area. You’re just 60 seconds away from the stunning views over Chesil Beach & Cove and just a few minutes walking distance to the beach itself. Blackford House is an excellent base if you’re visiting the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy, Portland Marina or Portland Port too – only a couple of minutes drive.
Explore the island on foot, by bike or car and soak up the vistas, the heritage and history of Portland or even venture further afield from your holiday accommodation!

Super easy check in and check out. The house was ideally located for the beautiful coastal walks and an easy cross back over to get to the many lovely beaches on offer in Dorset. Easy communication and very informative. A great base for our family trip.

Very clean, comfortable and well provisioned. Fortuneswell is quite a mixed area with some run down bits nearby but its a good base from which to explore the island
